Shimla weather forecast shows heavy snowfall! Know full details

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a week-long snow forecast for Shimla and other parts of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Most of the state is recording sub-zero temperatures, and local temperatures have also dropped by 3-4 degrees.

IMD added that the weather in the mountainous region would not change significantly over the next two days. IMD Himachal Pradesh Chief Executive Surender Paul told the media that “there will be no significant change in the weather over the next 48 hours.” The state’s temperature has dropped. Rain and snow will continue in most areas after January 19th.”

Surrender Paul also said temperatures in Shimla recorded zero degrees Celsius, while Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti recorded a record low of -11 degrees Celsius, and temperatures will continue to drop over the next few days.

Paul also predicted heavy snowfall in the area next week. After the recent snowfall, about 115 roads in the state are still closed due to snow.

According to the Met office’s forecast, there will be thick fog over isolated locations in Una, Bilaspur, Kangra, Solan and Mandi until Monday. Heavy ground frosts are expected in Hamirpur, Una, Sirmaur and Bilaspur, while isolated thunderstorms and lightning strikes are possible over the plains and low and medium hills on Thursday and Friday.
