Gujarat diamond merchant’s daughter who would inherit multi-million dollar fortune embraced ‘Monkhood’

The eight-year-old daughter of a wealthy Gujarat diamond merchant became a monk in Gujarat earlier this week.
She would become the heiress of the Surat-based Sanghvi and Sons, from which she would inherit a multi-million dollar fortune, but Devanshi Sanghvi instead chose to give up all her worldly pleasures to become a young nun of the Jain order.
On Tuesday, she performed a grand ceremony riding an elephant in a chariot.
