MoU between Hero Electric and Delhi Government for training of EV mechanics

An agreement has been signed between electric two-wheeler maker Hero Electric and the Delhi government to start a comprehensive training program for EV mechanics.

The Delhi government is far ahead of other state governments in promoting electric vehicles. The main objective of this agreement is to increase the number of skilled EV mechanics in the state.

Under this training they will be trained to solve all the problems of EVs.

Diploma in Automobile Engineering program will be started

Hero Electric has signed MoU with World Resource Institute (WRI) India and Delhi University of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (DSEU).

Under this, DSEU in collaboration with Hero Electric will develop an integrated curriculum in the initial phase to train the students of the ‘Diploma in Automobile Engineering’ program to become ‘Electric Vehicle Mechanic’.

After this the university will train 100 students every year in this field.

Aims to make Delhi India’s largest EV training center

Under this scheme, Hero Electric will also provide internship and apprenticeship opportunities to these students trained in basic and advanced EV technology.

Jasmin Shah, Vice Chairman, Delhi Dialogue and Development Commission (DDC) said, “The EV Mechanic Training Program is the first step in the series of short and long term courses to be launched by the Delhi Government to become the largest training center of EV workforce in India. ”

DSEU expects that the training program under this agreement will address two major challenges for the Delhi government, including fulfilling Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s vision to make Delhi the EV capital of India and creating a skilled and trained EV workforce in the state. includes doing.

The Delhi government had launched its EV policy in August 2020, under which it was targeted to launch several such initiatives.

The Delhi government has also recently publicly launched a database to emphasize on the development of EVs, which will prove useful to both electric vehicle manufacturers and users alike.

This database provides information about all EV charging and battery-swapping stations on the government’s ‘Switch Delhi’ portal.

The government has also launched this database as per the provisions made under the Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) policy.
