Nitish Kumar decided to conduct floor test after two weeks due to BJP speaker
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will prove his majority on August 25. A special session of the Vidhan Sabha has been called in this regard from August 24.
Voting will be held on the no-confidence motion against Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha on the first day of the session and the new speaker will conduct a floor test the next day.
Sinha comes from BJP and Nitish does not want to take any threat, so he has decided to prove his majority only after removing Sinha from the post.
No confidence motion
No-confidence motion moved after Sinha refused to resign
According to media reports, despite the formation of the coalition government of Janata Dal United (JDU) and BJP, BJP MLA Vijay Kumar Sinha has refused to resign from the post of Speaker, after which a no-confidence motion has been brought against him.
As per the rules, 50 MLAs of the Grand Alliance signed the no-confidence motion against Sinha and submitted it to the Assembly Secretary.
A JDU leader said the Speaker’s resignation was expected as soon as the government changed.
