Launching the Vande Bharat Express between Telangana’s Secunderabad and Andhra Pradesh’s port city of Visakhapatnam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the train symbolizes the power of the new India and will give a boost to tourism and the economy.

The prime minister was speaking at an event in Secunderabad where he virtually turned off the signal on a train. “We are delighted to stop the Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam. It will improve ‘ease of living’, boost tourism and help the economy,” he said in a Twitter post.

“The Vande Bharat Train is a symbol of New India’s resolve and power. It is a symbol of India that started on the road of rapid change. It is India that is restless for its dreams and aspirations. India wants to achieve its goals quickly,” Prime Minister Modi added.

When the inauguration ceremony was held at the nationally observed Makar Sankranti, Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy previously said that the flag of the high-speed train given on the day of the festival was a Sankranti gift to both Telugu people. main.

According to news agency PTI, the train is the first Vande Bharat train to run between the two Telugu states and is expected to cover the entire distance in eight and a half hours.

The trains will start running on January 16 and bookings will begin on Saturday, rail sources said. The Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express (20833) departs at 5:45 AM and arrives in Secunderabad at 2:15 PM. The return journey starts at 3:00 PM in Secunderabad and ends in Visakhapatnam at 11:30 PM. The train will make stops in both directions at Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Khammam and Warangal stations, South Central Railway (SCR) officials told PTI.

Consisting of 14 AC chair cars and two Executive AC chair cars with a capacity of 1,128 passengers, the train is manufactured with indigenous technology with modern features and enhanced comfort, officials added.

The trains will have automatic sliding doors, all classes will come with reclining seats and executive class will come with swivel seats, they said.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, G Kishan Reddy, and Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan attended Secunderabad Railway Station during his inauguration ceremony.
