Six windows of Mysuru-Chennai Vande Bharat Express train were damaged after stones were pelted on the moving train. No injuries have been reported yet. The unfortunate incident happened between KR Puram and Bengaluru cantonment station on Saturday.

The stones were thrown by unknown miscreants at around 10.30 pm when it was on the way to its second stoppage at K S R Bengaluru. Due to this, South Western Railway (SWR) has increased patrolling from Sunday in areas where such incidents have been reported.

As per SWR, a total of 34 such cases have been reported between January and February among which 13 are from Bengaluru division alone which is concerning. Authorities have warned people that doing such things will land them in a non bailable case.

Latest stone pelting was on the Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express train on Friday, two weeks ago, while it was passing through the Mahabubabad district of Telangana. No injuries were informed, although windowpane was damaged.
