They will not participate in the Asian Games until all the issues that they are facing are solved. They have been protesting against the wrestling Federation of India WFI as well as Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for several days now. He is the President of WFI on whom there are allegations of harassment.

In a statement, Sakshi Malik said “you won’t be able to understand what we are going through mentally each day”. She must be referring to their encounter with the police recently. The wrestlers had recently got into push and shove with the police when they were being detained. This was because they were breaching the law and order in Delhi. Wrestler was taken to Brij Bhushan Singh’s house

In the most recent development, a woman wrestler was taken to the residence of WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Singh. She was taken there by Delhi Police. Had claimed that she was physically harassed by Brij Bhushan. The wrestler was asked to ‘recreate the scene and recall the places where she faced harassment’. PTI reported that both wrestlers as well as Delhi Police had stayed at the residence for around half an hour.

The recent plan of the wrestlers was to take out a march on the same day as that of the inauguration date of the new Parliament building. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at the building to inaugurate it. The wrestlers were just few kilometres away from new parliament so that they could hold a women’s mahapanchayat near it. However, they were detained by the police and were later taken to different locations. The tents that were installed at the protest site were also removed. The wrestlers were only protesting in front of Jantar Mantar but few days before they announced that they will hold protest in different parts.
