Protesting wrestlers announce to go beyond Jantar Mantar, say it’s becoming jail

The protest by India’s some of the most famous wrestlers doesn’t seem to stop anytime soon. The protest against BJP MP, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is now the former President of the Wrestling Federation of India WFI will continue and will infact now go beyond Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Which means that the protest will be held at other places as well. This statement was given out by protesting wrestlers on Monday.

Indian Wrestler Vinesh Phogat said in her statement that the wrestlers team won’t limit their protest to Jantar Mantar but “extend it to other places as well because we feel that we are being shunned away”. The the group of wrestlers also claimed that the place where they are protesting right now is slowly being converted into a jail. The reason why the protest will be expanded is because they want to reach out to more people. They also said that this is not just about them but about every daughter of the country.

The protest started on April 23rd and the group of wrestlers includes Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik. They have alleged that WFI chief has continuously harassed wrestlers since 2012, which also includes harassment at tournaments even outside India. However, the politician has denied any such charges.
