Jammu & Kashmir: Terrorists attack security forces with grenades in Shopian, huge number of explosives recovered

In Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists attacked security forces with a grenade and escaped from the siege of the forces. Kashmir Zone Police gave information. According to the tweet of the police, the security forces started a search operation at Kutpora in Shopian. During the search, the terrorists threw grenades at the search party and fled taking advantage of the darkness.

Giving information, the Kashmir Zone Police said that on the basis of secret information, a search operation was being conducted by the police and SF personnel in Shopian. But taking advantage of the darkness, the terrorists attacked the security forces with grenades and managed to escape. Security forces have also busted a hideout inside a house from where a huge cache of arms and ammunition have been recovered.

Let us tell you that the terrorists have intensified the attacks in Shopian. Earlier, terrorists had also hurled a grenade at a bunker of the Central Reserve Police Force in the district on Monday evening, though the blast did not cause any damage. Giving information, the officials said that the terrorists hurled a grenade at the bunker of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) located at Manihal Batpora in Imamsahib area of Shopian district at around 9 pm. He said that the grenade did not hit the target and exploded on the side of the road, causing no damage.

Terrorists had attacked two Kashmiri Pandit brothers in Shopian district in the past, in which one brother was killed, while the other was injured. A police official said that the deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar. While Pintu Kumar was injured in the attack. A police spokesman said, terrorists attacked civilians in an apple orchard in Chotipura in Shopian district.
