Jammu and Kashmir News: 7 killed in Kishtwar after car falls into deep gorge

Srinagar: Seven people died in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. The four-wheeler fell into a deep gorge near Bonda village in Chatru region. There were 12 passengers in total. The injured were rescued by soldiers and locals who reached the spot and shifted to the hospital. DC said about this accident. Union Science and Technology Minister (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh said. He spoke about an unfortunate road accident in Chatru where seven people were reported dead. The injured are being shifted to Kishtwar District Hospital and GMC Doda as required. All possible assistance will be provided if required.

An official told news agency ANI that the vehicle carrying passengers from Chingam to Chatru met with an accident near Bonda village around 3.15 pm on Tuesday. He said rescuers including police, Rashtriya Rifles and local villagers swung into action as soon as the vehicle rolled off the hilly road. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, three succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, and three more injured were hospitalized in critical condition, officials said.
