The ninth Vande Bharat Express is almost ready and will begin service in the eastern region in February. According to the report, trains will most likely operate on the Puri-Bhubaneswar-Howrah route.
According to sources, the train will have limited stops and will accommodate rushes to Konark, sea beaches and Lord Jagannath Temple, among other major destinations.
The trains were manufactured at Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory. The release date has been made official and will be announced soon.
Puri sees a large footfall of pilgrims and tourists due to its spiritual relevance and beaches. Apart from that, the World Heritage Sites of Konark, Chilika Lagoon and Jagannath Temple are also included in the route, making the semi-high speed train a popular choice for travelers from Howrah and Puri.
Bengal has two Vande Bharat Express trains when the train runs on the Puri-Howrah route. The other is the Howrah-New Jalpaeguri service launched on December 30, 2022.
Eight Vande Bharat Express trains are currently operating in the country. Uniquely designed train sets are equipped with all modern amenities to provide rail passengers with faster and more comfortable train travel.
The Vande Bharat Express train has 14 AC chair coaches and 2 AC chair coaches with a capacity of 1,128 passengers.
“Vande Bharat is a great train. It can travel from 0 to 100 km in 52 seconds, while other trains in the world take 54 to 60 seconds. Indian design is far better than airplanes.
We can provide you with the most comfortable travel experience,” said Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The Indian Railways plans to operate 400 Vande Bharat trains across India over the next three years. There is speculation that the next Vande Bharat Express will connect New Delhi and Jaipur, reducing the travel time between the two cities to less than two hours.
