Amit Shah holds meeting with BJP leaders from Jammu and Kashmir

Union Home Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah held a meeting with the party’s core group members from Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said that the issues related to the organization and the political situation in the Union Territory were discussed in the meeting. According to sources, Shah asked the leaders to make efforts to further strengthen the organization in both the parts of the erstwhile state. There is a discussion that after the completion of the voter list revision exercise released in the Union Territory, assembly elections can be held. This meeting of BJP took place on a day when senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad left the party. He hails from Jammu and Kashmir. However, BJP sources said that the meeting was pre-determined.

Azad will form a new party

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who has resigned from the Congress, said that he would soon form a new party and its first unit would be formed in Jammu and Kashmir. Azad said, I am in no hurry to form a national party but keeping in view the possibility of elections in Jammu and Kashmir, I have decided to form a unit there soon.
