Digi yatra airport access facilities are now operational at three airports


Digi Yatra paperless airport access facilities are now operational at three airports in the country, including Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI), and were launched (at two other airports) by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday.

What is Digi Yatra?

Based on facial recognition technology (FRT), Digi Yatra aims for seamless contactless handling of passengers at airports. This allows passenger data to be automatically processed based on facial recognition systems at various checkpoints in the airport.

For now, in addition to IGIA, it is available at Bengaluru and Varanasi airports. By March 2023, 4 cities will be added: Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Vijayawada. After that, the technology will be rolled out more broadly.

Digi Yatra ID

After downloading the Digi Yatra app from the Google Play Store or iOS App Store, passengers share details such as name, email address, mobile phone number and details of identification documents (Aadhaar, driver’s license, voter ID, etc.) to obtain this ID. can be obtained. . Entering this information will generate your Digi Yatra ID. Must be shared while booking tickets. The airline shares this ID and passenger data with the departure airport.

What should I do at the airport?

If you choose Aadhaar-based verification, your identity will be verified online. However, if another ID is selected, security personnel will manually verify the ID at the airport.

How to use Digi Yatra facilities?

Scan your barcode boarding pass at the airport electronic gate. A facial recognition system installed there verifies your identity and travel documents. You can then go inside and follow the normal procedure to go through security and board your flight.
