The success of Vijay’s films Varisu at the box office impressed many. Setting a new record for the actor, the hit Tamil film has already become the actor’s second highest-grossing film. According to initial trade reports, on day 16 of launch, Varisu earned Rs 2.50-2.80 crore India net for all languages on the 16th day of release. With this, the total collection of the film is Rs 158 crore. Varisu had an overall Tamil share of 44.81% on 26 January.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, “Varisu” is an action thriller. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead opposite Thalapathy Vijay. The star cast includes Prabhu, Sharathkumar, Shaam, SJ Suriya, Srikanth, Prakash Raj and Kushbhoo. The film’s music was composed by Thaman and cinematography was directed by Karthik Palani, Praveen K.L. I am in charge of the editing table.
