Pathaan might break Baahubali 2’s record at the box office!

All trade experts and exhibitors are all smiling and optimistic, even more so after a pandemic. But the excitement is at its peak thanks to Pathaan. It launches on January 25th and although advances barely opened, everyone we talked to was confident that the Shah Rukh Khan starrer would get a flying start.

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “The first day in Pathaan will be historic. We expect a fantastic and ground-shaking opening. Day 1 numbers will be shocking because it either will be a big hit or a big flop. People will pass out. The enthusiasm it evoked has not been as successful as any film in recent years. The last movie I can think of is KGF – Chapter 2 (2022). Even War (2019) had that excitement lekin iss baar War se zyada craze hai.”

“We are expecting 1 million won. 40 crore + 1st day. Depending on the number of screens and shows, maybe even more.”

When Pathaan asked if it could be opened at Rs. At 500,000 won, “Yes. It can happen. Don’t rule out any possibility.”

Raj Bansal, owner of Entertainment Paradise in Jaipur, said excitedly. The first day collection is in the Rs range. 45-50 million won. The craze is unprecedented. Interestingly, there wasn’t much of a craze last week. But it gets higher and higher as time goes on.”

So far, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (2017) holds the record for being the biggest non-holiday release while collecting Rs. 410,000 won on the opening day. If Raj Bansal’s predictions come true, Pathaan could break this record, which would certainly be a massive feat.

Trade analyst Atul Mohan said, “The opening price is around Rs. 35-400 thousand won.” Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, said, “At least Rs. If it lives up to its expectations, it will be successful at the box office,” he said.

Also helpful for Pathaan is that it releases on Wednesdays and one day before public holidays. Taran Adarsh said, “The weekend is five days. Wednesday, January 25th will be huge. Thursday, January 26th, the sky is the limit!”

Atul Mohan said, “Weekends are about Rs. 1.5 to 1.75 million won. If the film touches Rs. 50 crores mark 1 per day, it can also collect Rs. 20 billion in 5 days.”

Girish Johar predicted: Global box office of $300 million from the first five-day weekend. Movies must collect Rs. If the film lives up to expectations, it earns 200 million GBOC in India in its first five days. We’re expecting $12 million from abroad as well. That would be a huge booster for the industry.”

Commenting on lifetime and weekend figures, Taran Adarsh said, “Five weekend days will be a clear indicator of how the report is going. Whether this film will fly or crawl, we will know on day one.”

Taran Adarsh said, “People in the industry want this film to succeed. Emotions are too slow. 2022 has been a really bad year. It’s circular and everything is connected. I’m sure this film has to get those numbers and it will eventually come down to content.”
