Kangana Ranaut comments on Pathan’s success, says “Aisi films…”

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is being criticized for superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film, Pathaan. Kangana called Pathaan for showing India’s “enemy” Pakistan and intelligence agency ISI in a “good light”. Kangana said this came as a surprise as she had previously praised Pathaan at the closing party for her upcoming film Emergency.

She wrote on her Twitter: Who is buying tickets and making them successful? Yes, the movie Love, Inclusion, and Patan in India, where 80% of Hindus live… “

However, her views did not go over well in sections of the internet as she initially praised the film and made a u-turn. One user told her that Pathaan’s daily earnings were her “lifetime earnings”. Kangana, known as a vocalist, told the user “Nimo bhai I have no income left. I put my house in my office every day. The only thing I mortgaged to make a film that will celebrate India’s Constitution and our love for this great nation…

Talking to the media alongside Emergency co-stars Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik, Kangana said she previously wanted Pathaan to “definitely work”, praising the film starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

Kangana said “Pathaan acha kar rahi hai. Aisi movies chalni chahiye aur I feel ki jo hamare Hindi cinema wale piche reh gaye hain, har insaan apne level pe koshish kar raha hai (Pathaan is doing very well. I think a movie like this should definitely work. It’s behind the movies — the movie industry, and we’re all working to finally revive the business in our own little way.”
