Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is all set for his horror comedy ‘Bhediya’. This film will be released in cinemas on November 25 in three different languages which are Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The trailer, which boasts rich visuals, created a good topic among cinephiles. It is Dinesh Vijan’s third film in the world of horror comedy after Stree (2018) and Roohi (2021).
The industry that suffered from the BO drought breathed a sigh of relief at the appearance of Drysham 2, which was successful at the box office. The industry hopes that Varun Starr will continue this trend. His last film, Zug Zug Zero, released amidst the pandemic, did decent business.
Bhediya movie advance booking report
Varun starrer has been certified with a UA certificate from the Censorship Board with an approved run time of 2 hours 36 minutes or 156 minutes. Movie reservations began on November 19 (Sat), a week before the release. However, the response to the sale so far has not been good. As of 10:00 pm on November 20th, we are recording 14L on the 1st day from advance reservation. About 5,000 tickets were sold for the entire opening day.
With 4 more days remaining, it is expected to record 3-4 Cr with pre-booking on the opening day.
BHEDIYA Screen Count and Budget
It is said that it was made with a budget of 60 billion won. It is expected to occupy about 2500 to 3000 screens in the domestic market. However, more screens are available in the Tamil and Telugu releases.
Varun’s last film, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, opened on approximately 3300+ screens and grossed over $90 million at the box office and a decent $37 million over the weekend.
Box office collection
Given the good pre-release buzz, it looks like Varun’s film could open in the order of 8-9 crore at the box office. Moreover, since the pre-sale is currently open, it is too early to say that a clearer outlook will emerge after the initial response to the pre-sale.
The bad news for the Varun starrer is that it will have to face conflict with Ajay Devgn’s “Drishyam 2” which is doing very well at the box office. However, if the content is good, Bhediya will eventually make its way to cinemas as 2022 was the year of WOM movies like Kantara, Sita Ramam, The Kashmir Files and 777 Charlie.
