Delhi air passengers to access DigiYatra in 3 simple steps, no need to install app

DELHI: A great news has popped for the people of Delhi. Now passengers who are travelling through Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport will be able to access DigiYatra facility without installing the mobile application. The DigiYatra is a system that aims to provide contact-less identification of passengers. It stores ID as well as other travel documents of the air travellers. This helps travellers to have a hassle-free ID check, at check points such as airport entry, Security Check as well as boarding Gate.

Use the facility in just three steps

DigiYatra was introduced on December 1 last year. As per Delhi International Airport Limited, the initiative has been launched at Terminal 3 of IGI Airport. It will make the process simple for passengers to use it. It can be used by following three simple steps. The first step will be registration. For registration to be complete, the passengers will need to scan the boarding pass and their face. Then they will require to show an ID to the security personal nearby. Once the registration is complete the passenger will be able to have a hassle-free travel experience.

Restlessly working to improve experience at Delhi Airport

However, Delhi International Airport is one step ahead of everyone. In a statement by Delhi International Airport CEO, Videh Kumar Jaipuriar he said “We have been relentlessly working to improve the passenger’s experience at the Delhi Airport.” Although it was launched in 2022, it was necessary for it to be downloaded. Recently, in March 2023, DigiYatra system was introduced at Pune airport as well. Other cities where the app has been enabled are Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru Varanasi.

This new step taken will allow even those who are not much familiar with the technology to utilize DigiYatra fully and travel without any worries. “DigiYatra is a faster, safer and smoother way of travel, which aims to allow passengers to spend more time with their family and friends at the Airport” he said. The process will save at least 15 to 20 minutes which are precious to the passengers. At present, all DigiYatra facility has been expanded to all departure gates of Terminal 3 as well as Terminal 2 of the IGI Airport
