Maharashtra: Women gang raped, was stripped naked and left on the road, 2 accused arrested

A sensational case of gangrape with a 35-year-old woman has come to light in Bhandara district of Maharashtra. The accused fled after the rape, leaving the woman naked on the road.

The Kardha police station reached the information of passers-by and admitted the woman to the hospital in an injured condition, where her condition remains critical.
After this the investigation of the case was handed over to the Gondia police. While raiding the police arrested two accused.

The accused made the woman a victim of lust

Gondia Superintendent of Police (SP) Vishwa Pansare said that on July 30, the woman was on her way to her brother’s house in Kamargaon after a fight with her niece. On the way he met Shriram Urkude. He promised to take the woman home, but he took her to Palasgaon.

He told that in Palasgaon, the accused raped her and left her naked on the roadside. After this she somehow reached Kanhalmoh village of Bhandara district.

Two accused raped in Kanhalmoh village

The SP said that on August 1, in Kanhalmoh village, an accused named Lukka Ashok Surve befriended the woman and was his friend. After befriending her, along with his friend and third accused Mohammad Ejaz Ansari, raped her and left her on the road in an injured condition.

He told that Rajesh Thorat, Inspector of Kardha police station, who reached the information, took him to the hospital, from where he was referred to Nagpur Medical College.

On the basis of the statement of the woman, two accused were arrested

The SP said that on the basis of the report of the Kardha police station, the Gondia police took over the investigation of the case. After this the statement of the woman was recorded and after raiding the accused Lukka Ashok Surve and Mohammad Ejaz Ansari were arrested.

He said that the search for the third accused Sriram Urkude is on. The involvement of other accused is also being ascertained based on the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area.

Chief Minister Shinde ordered immediate action

Maharashtra BJP leader Chitra Wagh has strongly condemned the gangrape incident in Bhandara district and demanded a time-bound trial in the special court and strict punishment to the guilty.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, taking the incident seriously, has ordered the police to take action at the earliest and arrest the third accused. The inspection of the matter is going on.
