Skoda Elroq Electric SUV made its Global debut on October 1, 2024 with a brand new ‘Modern Solid’ design language. The compact SUV has been priced at Rs 30.63 lakh and is Skoda’s first fully electric SUV. It’s been built on the Volkswagen group’s MEB modular electric platform, shared with ENYAQ models. As per the carmaker, the delivery of this model will commence in early 2025 worldwide whereas in India the SUV is expected to arrive around mid of 2025. The new model will be placed below Kodiaq in the brand’s international lineup.

The electric SUV will feature a sharp front end with cubed LED DRLs and boomerang-shaped matrix LED headlights. The new car comes with Skoda’s new Tech-Deck face  which is a flat, wide butterfly grille reinterpretation. The Dark chrome logo and lettering on the bonnet that is contoured with Skoda lettering in dark chrome gives it a trendy look. The rear design consists of prominent roof spoiler and slim wraparound LED taillights. On the tailgate, we can see dark chrome lettering positioned in the centre. The 2D Skoda logo has been placed on alloy wheel caps where the wheel size ranges between 19 to 21 inches.

Skoda Elroq Electric SUV powertrain

The car powered by a battery has provided three battery options: The first is the Elroq 50 which has a Battery of 55kWh, Motor of 168bhp and Range: Over 370km. Second option is the Elroq 60 which has a Battery of 63kWh, Motor of 201bhp and Range of More than 400km. Finally, the third one is Elroq 85 which has a Battery of 82kWh, Motor of 282bhp (for dual motor version) and Range of Over 560km. Elroq 50 and 60 when charged at up to 145kW and 165kW, respectively get charged by 10-80% in under 25 minutes. And the Elroq 85 when charged at up to 175kW gets charged by 10-80% in 28 minutes. Let us tell you that both rear-wheel as well as the all-wheel-drive options are available for the top variant (Elroq 85x AWD) that is expected to launch in 2025.

On the inner side, the SUV features a 13 inch touch screen infotainment system with a physical button bar present on it. A small digital driver’s display as well as the augmented reality heads of display are seen in the car. Moreover, Skoda has also introduced an AI powered board from charge GPT into the Laura voice assistant. This time the car maker has given a lot of attention to sustainability as the dark blue material is made from 78% recycle pet bottles along with 6% recycled clothing fibres. Not just that the car is made from 75% Econyl fibre (which is basically recycled fishing nets) and 25% polyester.

Some other powerful features of the car include remote parking, remote charging and Skoda wallbox that will facilitate the charging at home itself. Furthermore, there is an available at standard cargo space of 470 liters which can be expanded to 1580 liters when the rear seats are folded. Available in three trims namely Standard, Sportline and First edition the car features some advanced technologies like the dual digital display, 360 degree camera, level 2 ADAS and connected car tech.
